A PILLOW OF DREAMS…

At this moment, late Spring is showing her beauty in all ways possible. With one of Springs’ most delightful flowers ever, and my absolute favorites, white peonies. Can’t get over their delicate layers of loveliness. They inspire me in so many ways, with their soft color, lushy blossoms and gentle scent. I made a few images to capture the memories attached. For a pillow of dreams for days to come…

KEEP ON DREAMING…

Sometimes you come across a brand that touches your heart and in case of ‘Little creative factory’ that was exactly what happened. A wonderful childrenswear brand designed by Cristina Fernandez based in Barcelona, Spain. Collections characterised by the beauty of simplicity. Experimental shapes and attention to detail are present in all of her designs, under the banner of ‘less is more’. With nurture and comfort in mind, their clothes are made of natural and hard-wearing fabrics that come from the earth, such as cottons and linens. Textiles that reflect their roots, their very origin, whilst maintaining the sophistication and delicacy that marks the pure beauty of their clothes. All these unique pieces are produced in the heart of Barcelona, always following the philosophy of ‘slow manufacture’, ‘0km’ and ‘less is more’. Always conscientious of the need to work towards building a better world for our small people.

So imagine my joy when i was asked by Cristina to style and shoot images of her new spring/summer 2016 collection. Thank you so much Cristina for this wonderful opportunity. This collaboration is proof that sometimes ideas are not only dreams. On occasion it comes to pass that dreams become reality…

A lazy sunday in April…

Reflecting on a beautiful project we had the joy of working on this month. An early spring/easter shoot at the beautiful restaurant in the middle of the countryside. Images to bring that spring new life feeling into their new advertising campaign in magazines and social media communications. Not only in foodimages but also with outdoor photos of the beautiful surrounding countryside to enhance the mood of the restaurant.

A NEW IDENTITY…

A new visual concept designed for a restaurant in Nuenen, a lovely place in the South of Holland. Owned by a couple who share their passion for cooking and pure honest food. ‘Pezzaz’ blends passion with enthousiasm,  attention for every detail, all to create a rich culinary personal experience for every guest. This breathes in every detail of their beautiful restaurant, in which guests are pampered with delicious, authentic and honest food. We designed their total visual identity, all off- and online visual communications including logo, menu- and businesscards, outdoorsigns, advertisement campaigns and websites. All with the use of our own foodphotography.

A TIME TO…

Collaborating with brands we love

We love styling, photographing and working with products and brands to create campaigns on several social media platforms for clients. Recently we did a collaboration with a new Scandinavian brand ‘NicoleVienna’ with beautiful elegant timepieces. See here some images we made for their visual identity used on Instagram and Twitter.

Notes on creativity … Ferran Adrià

Processed with VSCOcam with se3 preset

This week i attended the opening night of a inspiring new exhibition at Marres Maastricht ‘Ferran Adria: Notes on creativity’. For years, Adrià was the head chef of elBulli, the world’s most famous restaurant, a half hour drive from Barcelona. The restaurant only opened for six months a year. For the rest of the year, the chef withdrew to his laboratory with a few trusted colleagues to develop new recipes. Ferran Adrià ignited a revolution in the kitchen, not only in terms of food, but also in its design, cooking utensils and menus. Every innovation was accompanied by drawings, diagrams and formal experiments, through which Adrià translated the vocabulary of taste into the visual domain.

As one of the most important avant-garde chefs of the twenty-first century, Adrià pushes culinary boundaries with knowledge and wit, transforming the art of food into an art form all its own. Hundreds of notebooks have been filled with concepts, ideas, collaged photographs, and loose sketches for new dishes for elBulli.

Notes on Creativity is dedicated to Ferran Adrià ‘s quest for creativity and how that led to his revolutionary, innovative cuisine. The highlight of the exhibition is a specially designed ‘Hall of mirrors’ with an endless landscape of over a hundred floating objects: glass tumblers in all possible forms, metal amuse pictures, slate and glass plates and plastics, which indicate the size of a dish. This exhibition offers an unique peek inside his life and work. To be seen till 03-07-2016.

SPRING’S FIRST DELIGHTS

Every year it’s showing her first delightful signs of Spring, the decades old Camelia in my dad’s garden. Planted about 30 years ago and every year putting up a big show with lush red flowers elegant dangling in dark shiny green leaves. For weeks at a time it brightens up the cold February days…
